    I was wondering if you can link members up with other parents as support?

    We have a network of parents throughout Scotland..linked through local groups..we also have parent contacts who can be accessed via phone/email..we are also developing an online network resource to be launched in the new year. There are links to contacts via our website however, please contact us for more information.

    We will soon be hosting live video streams covering topics which parents have told us are important to them. There will be professionals and experts including speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, teachers, and some of our own staff, who can share their parental experiences supporting a child with communication challenges. Our first of three video sessions is due to launch late JANUARY 2012, which will be streamed to the website. It is anticipated to run these sessions around 7pm. The video session will be followed by a question and networking building session via our FACEBOOK page for those who are online at the time.

    The first session topic is around the subject: WHAT ARE SPEECH, LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION NEEDS? WHAT IS SLI ( SPECIFIC LANGUAGE IMPAIRMENT)? WHAT CAN I DO AS A PARENT TO SUPPORT MY CHILD?
    Often, parents struggle with diagnostic labels, uncertainty about 'conditions' , overlapping challenges - we are offering an opportunity for people to submit questions which the professional(s) will answer on the video link
