Welcome to the Afasic Fife Group Web Page.

About Us

Afasic Fife was formed in 1991 as a local support group for parents of children and young adults with speech, language or communication impairments. All parents are welcome, whether from within Fife or from surrounding areas. We also welcome teachers, speech and language therapists and other interested professionals. Our family events are designed to be fun for the children, and their brothers and sisters too.

There is currently no subscription charge to join Afasic Fife and you can be placed on our local mailing list at no charge. However, if you wish to take part in family activities then it will be necessary (for insurance purposes) to join Afasic (see www.afasic.org.uk for details).

Joining In

Afasic Fife is keen to welcome new members. As parents we know how important it was to meet other parents who understood our concerns, were dealing with the same issues or who had been there already and could help us to understand what lay ahead for us and our children. Many of the current members of Afasic Fife have children at Secondary School and beyond and so a special invitation is extended to parents of younger children to come along and build new networks for parents and families.
